development with strong backgrounds in physician practice management, we are

customized modules developed for some of the largest PMS and EMR packages on

Leadership Team
Ari Straus -
Founder, Chief Executive Officer
Ari founded Medmatics in January, 2006 and currently serves as its CEO. Prior
to Medmatics, from 2003-2005, Ari served as CEO of a medical billing and collections
company. Before entering healthcare, Ari served on the executive team at Walmart.com
as General Manager from 2000 – 2003.
Prior to Walmart.com, Ari founded
and sold Figleaves.com (www.figleaves.com), an online Internet retail company
which continues to operate today. Previous to figleaves.com, Ari worked with
Deloitte Consulting and Kurt Solomon Associates in IT strategic planning for
large manufacturers and retailers, specializing in ERP selection, implementation,
and change management (i.e., SAP and Oracle). Previously, Ari worked with The
Coca-Cola Company in their IT division.
Ari earned his BA from Franklin & Marshall College and his MBA from Emory
University, Atlanta, GA.
Ari is an amateur racecar driver and one of the owners of
the Monticello Motor Club, a private race resort for automotive enthusiasts
located 90 minutes from Manhattan. He is also a certified private pilot and
avid scuba diver.
Ari lives in Cold Spring, New York with his wife, Molly,
and their three children, Aurora, Simone, and Asher. Ari also serves on the
Foundation Board of the Putnam Hospital Center, the Board of Directors of the
Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, and is a volunteer firefighter.
J. James Gary -
President, Chief Operating Officer
James joined Medmatics in 2007 as its COO and became its President in 2008.
He oversees all operations, software development, sales and marketing for the
firm.
James was previously co-founder and CEO of GlobeTrend Technologies, an
information technology systems integrator. Under his leadership, the firm exceeded
revenues of $5 million and, within one year, achieved the designation
as the eighth largest AT&T value-added reseller in the Eastern United States.
James sold the business in 2007.
Prior to starting his own technology firm,
James held several management positions with AT&T. Before AT&T, he
was a director of supply-chain management with John Deere and the Ford Motor
Company de Mexico.
James earned his BS in business administration from Saint Louis University
and his MBA from Thunderbird, School of Global Management.
James lives
in Garrison, NY with his wife, Sarena, and their daughter, Lorelei.
Steve Larmon -
Chief Technology Officer
Steve is a co-founder of Medmatics and serves as its Chief Technologist.
Prior
to Medmatics, Steve worked on several projects for Pratt and Whitney and Lockheed
Martin where he managed system migrations and networks.
Steve's career as a
technologist has included software development and infrastructure engineering
with national healthcare providers, large public sector contractors, and small
software development firms, including his own startup.
Marc Straus, MD -
FACP
As a well published Oncology/Hematology physician and researcher, Dr. Straus serves MedMatics as its Chairman. He served for over 20 years as CEO of a large multi-specialty private practice based in White Plains, NY where he retired from the practice in 2006.
In 1982, he started CarePlus, the second home IV infusion company in the United
States. CarePlus achieved a market cap of $1 billion.
Dr. Straus is a board-certified Oncologist who trained at the National Cancer Institute. He has authored some 100 scientific papers and three textbooks on lung cancer.
Dr. Straus has also served as a consultant to several venture capitalists and for a renowned hedge fund where he advised on their biotech portfolio.
Dr. Straus acted as a Trustee for ten years at Franklin & Marshall College, Lancaster, Pa. and in 2004, founded the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art in Peekskill, NY. An avid supporter of emerging artists, Dr. Straus is known as one of the most respected collectors of Contemporary Art. He is also a published poet with 3 books in publication.
